Draft — pending legal review
This page has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It is written to be a useful and honest starting point for counsel, and to describe our actual practice accurately. Do not rely on it as legal advice or as a final agreement.
Cookies
This site sets two cookies. Both are strictly necessary, so there is nothing to consent to and no banner.
Why there is no cookie banner
There are no advertising cookies, no third-party tracking cookies, and no analytics of any kind on this site. The two cookies below are required for it to work at all, and consent is not required for those.
A banner asking permission for cookies we do not set would be inaccurate, and it would train you to dismiss the banners that matter. If that ever changes — if a single non-essential cookie is added — a consent banner appears automatically and this page says so instead.
The mechanism is built and connected. It is asleep because there is nothing for it to do.
Every cookie this site sets
| Name | Category | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| ledger_demo_persona | Strictly necessary | Remembers which demonstration persona you chose, so the platform knows whose view to render. It holds a persona identifier from a fixed list of fictional people — not an account, and not you. | Until you close the browser or sign out. |
| ledger_demo_day | Strictly necessary | Holds which day of the simulated school year you are viewing, so advancing the clock survives a page reload. | Until you close the browser. |
| lfw_school_pass | Strictly necessary | Remembers that you arrived through a school invitation link, so your named demo and the course ladder stay open on return visits. It holds the link identifier — never your name or email. | 90 days, or until the link is revoked. |
| lfw_demo_pass | Strictly necessary | Remembers that you asked to see the demonstration, so you are not asked for your details twice. It holds one word — the role you described yourself as, such as "teacher" — and nothing else. Not your name, not your email address, and not an account, because looking at the demonstration does not create one. | Thirty days, so a second visit is not a second form. |
| lfw_class_seat | Strictly necessary | Remembers the class code you typed and which name you tapped, so your lesson is still yours after a page reload. It holds nothing else: no email address, no password, and no name typed by a student. The names it can hold were all created by a teacher, and every student in this platform is a practice student rather than a real child. | Ten hours, so it ends with the school day on a shared device. |
Both are first-party. Neither is sent to any other party, and neither identifies you — the persona cookie holds the identifier of a fictional demonstration character.
